Lindsey Jade Higgins:

Contemporary Theatre Director

About Me

[Lindsey] knows what she wants but allows a safe environment for her actors to explore characters and make choices. She provides great communication and feedback that help to bring out the best potential in her actors.”
— Emma Tompkins, Actor for 'Inside Man' and 'And Then They Came for Me:'
Higgins knows the edgy territory here, and has her actors locked in hermetic worlds, based on physical and psychological weakness
— Steve Feeney, Broadway World

... and Higgins’ directorial work is exquisitely attuned to physical nuance
— Megan Grumbling, Portland Pheonix

My human-first approach puts the needs of the person at the heart of every decision and in front of anything else. Actors are active participants in collaboration, rather than objects to be placed.

Every production is an opportunity to embark on a fearless journey.

I’ve learned my craft from the ground up through the grit and challenges of self-producing on shoestring budgets in foreign countries. My journey is not just about survival; it's about thriving on limitations and turning shoestring budgets into impactful stories. It's a testament to my resilience and ability to command attention, even when resources are scarce.

I thrive on the audacity of exploration. The thrill of unraveling the unknown, whether it's through raw emotions or taboo subjects, fuels my creative spirit. I am not interested in telling comfortable stories; I embrace the challenge of navigating unexplored realms to unearth stories that demand to be heard.

As a teacher, Lindsey cultivates performers who can move thought into action, make brave, clear choices, and who understand theatrical theory and practice
